Laura Arend
(Gaga-inspired) Technique and Repertory
12/11 12:30pm-3:30pm at Eden's Expressway, 537 Broadway
2/12 7pm-9pm at Studio D, Mark Morris dance Center
Laura offers a modern dance practice deeply inspired by the philosophy of Gaga technique created by Ohad Naharin. Thanks to improvisation, the dancer is leaded towards a very personal research of his own feeling, texture, and authentic way of moving. Each session starts with some floor works and relaxing exercise before exploring the relation between pleasure and effort.
Laura graduated from the Conservatoire national supérieur de danse (CNSM). In 2010, she moved to the United-States to study at the Merce Cuningham Studio. In 2011, she joined Judith Sanchez Ruiz Company, first as a trainee then as a dancer and finally become her choreographic assistant. Together they worked for the Guggenheim Museum and the Hispanico Ballet among others. She was a member of Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company II in 2012 as well as the French dance company : F521.i. Laura is also a Yoga teacher certified Yoga Alliance US and UK by the Sampoorna Yoga school in India in 2014. Visit her website |
