About Clarisse |
Clarisse Roud is originally from Switzerland. She started dancing seriously at the age of 15 in the pre-professional training program of Dance Area (Geneva, Switzerland). She then choose to dedicate her artistic training to her passion within the London Studio Centre Foundation Course (London, UK), and finally arrived in New York two years ago to really focus her dance training on some of the most famous modern technic, contracting and releasing within the Martha Graham School of contemporary dance, falling and recovering within the Limón Institute, finishing that year long program with a teaching Limón’s principles attestation by NYU Steinhardt and the Limón Institute. She keeps living her American Dream studying Pilates along Teri Steel and will be soon certified Teacher, answering only a single desire, to complete still more her thirst to learn, explore and share. Clarisse got the chance to work with choreographer such as Buddy Watkins, Kathryn Alter, Etienne Frey, Jacqulyn Buglisi, and Diego Funes. She performed some Limon’s repertory, and saw herself designated to perform There is a Time for War as a Soloist while her time in the program.

We've asked teachers to bring something that they're working on, something they're intrigued about, to present it to the community and see how can we make it work together. At the end of every class there will be a time to debrief and discuss the material and strategies used to present it.
