Improvisation
|
Class description
The class will be a guided improvisation. Beginning with a warm-up, the first improv exercise will focus on tuning into and expanding on the body’s impulses and affinities. We will then move into exploring question based exercises that ask the mover to think about the relationship of body part to body part, brain to body, and dancer to dancer. Throughout the class, we will expand from focusing internally and primarily on the self, to partner, and eventually group improvisation. The class will culminate to a loosely framed movement score based on all the exercises explored during class.
