About Rina |
Rina Espiritu is a performance and movement artist based in Southeast Queens, NY. Espiritu’s work has been presented in Estrogenius Festival at the Kraine Theater, Movement Research at Judson Memorial Church, Center for Performance Research as part of PSOH, Creators Collective at the New Work Project and at the United Nations Church Center as part of World Interfaith Harmony Week. She has also shown works at various NYC venues such as BkSD, La MaMa ETC, Socrates Sculpture Park, HECK Brooklyn, Jack Crystal Theater, Abrons Arts Center studio, The Dixon Place, Kaye Playhouse Center, Triskelion Arts, The Green Space, Alchemical Studios, and upstate NY as part of the Wassaic August Festival. She has a major in Dance and minor in Asian American Studies and Psychology at Hunter College (CUNY). She has been immersed in finding ways to represent entrapment in our own physical body, by the structural systems we participate in, and by our individual thought processes.
