About Nick |
Nick Alselmo is a 2015 graduate from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) with a BFA in contemporary dance. He began his dance training at age nine in his hometown of Rochester, NY at the Little Red Dancing School under the direction of Lisa Allain. While at UNCSA, he danced in works by Juel D. Lane, Trish Casey, Kimberly Bartosik, Larry Keigwin, Bill T. Jones, Cara Hagan, Twyla Tharp and Merce Cunningham. Nick also has a passion for choreography; he has shown work at Gibney Dance, Arts on Site, Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, Gallim Dance, Movement Research and Lincoln Center. Nick is currently freelancing and has performed with Abarukas (Yoshito Sakuraba), Andre Drummond, vessels, the Merce Cunningham Trust (various repertory pieces), Spaces of Fontana, Johnnie Cruise Mercer/TheREDProjectNYC, Lazer Eyes, The Nash Conspiracy and recently began performing as an actor/co-choreographer for the off-Broadway Hip-Hop Vaudeville production The Rebirth of Rabbit’s Foot.
