Class description
Floor and standing warm-up, followed by across the floor skills and partnering skills; handstands/ cartwheels and rolls.  Phrase work.

Experience required for the participants 
Any level 

Goals for participants 
I like to influence my students to work on softness inside of quick movements, particularly when moving in and out of the floor.  I like to challenge people to find the "wave" inside the movement and follow it through to the end, rather than trying to control the phrase.  

Goals for teacher 
Within my teaching practice I am actively working on expanding my awareness of the classroom climate; pairing music and musicality with movement, and my personal internal confidence.

About Mauri

Mauri Terra Connors is from Virginia and she currently lives in Brooklyn, where she works at Brooklyn Forest as a preschool teacher. She has performed the choreography of Vanessa Voskuil, Shawn Hove, Mindy Toro, Ishmael Houston-Jones, and Merce Cunningham under the direction of Andrea Weber. She is currently dancing with Progeny Dance and Jenefer Davies. She graduated in May 2015 from Connecticut College with a BA in Dance. As a teacher she likes to explore students' choreographic contributions, and lots of floor work!
